CEO and CO-FOUNDER
Scott Ellman is CEO and co-founder of USAsia Venture Partners. He has over twenty years of experience in strategic alliances, marketing, business development, and sales. Scott has applied these skills in two distinct areas: high technology and commercial real estate. He has held senior positions at high technology pioneers Silicon Graphics (SGI) and VMware where, among other things, he managed some of the companies' most important alliances such as those with Hitachi, Toshiba, Oracle, NEC, Dell, IBM, and HP. He was also the co-founder and VP of Marketing at the for-profit division of SeniorNet.org, a world leader in teaching older citizens how to use computers and the Internet. There, Scott was instrumental in every step of the company's evolution, from co-writing the business plan and raising venture capital from investors such as Nichemen trading company and Mrs. Eugene Kleiner, to forging strategic partnerships with eBay and IBM. As a commercial real estate specialist at Sheldon Good & Company, Scott helped drive and structure the deals that made the company the leader in auction-based sales of real estate in North America. By the time he left the firm after a ten year tenure, it had closed over $9 billion in sales. Among other achievements, Scott coordinated the first-ever nationwide US auction, which drove a then-record $250 million in sales. Scott holds a BS in Applied Mathematics from Brown University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kapa and magna cum laude (the university's highest academic honor), and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
